In April 2024, the Department of Justice issued a final rule under Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requiring state and local governments, including public colleges and universities, to ensure that all digital content meets federal accessibility standards. Institutions must be in full compliance with this rule by April 2026.
