每日大赛 in March will host its annual Teaching & Learning Conference, “Immersed in Learning: Educators as Designers of Experience, Community and Change,” creating an affordable space for K-12 and higher education faculty to collaborate and ultimately enrich their classroom experiences.

Hosted by the Pellissippi Academic Center for Excellence (PACE), the in-person conference will take place March 27 to March 29 at the college’s Hardin Valley campus, and feature presentations and roundtable discussions on topics like artificial intelligence and emerging technologies, accessibility and faculty development and leadership.

“The overall goal is to bring educators together from across the country, and maybe even across the globe, to have an opportunity to exchange different ideas of what they're doing in their classrooms,” said Antija Allen, director of PACE. “Another big part is building community in Knoxville and beyond, because we all need support in our work.”

The conference will kick off with keynote speaker Lisa Forbes’ “The Power of Play in Learning: Inviting Belonging, Engagement and Transformative Learning,” an interactive workshop grounded in the neuroscience of play and illustrated through real-world classroom practices.

Other sessions will focus on workforce development, in alignment with Pellissippi’s identity as a “career immersion college” and on some of Pellissippi’s core values like Active Learning.

The conference will also offer experiential learning sessions, during which attendees can participate in simulations and see how to implement those tools into their own classroom, and there will be opportunities for attendees to share their research.

“It's going to be new and wonderful, and hopefully an experience that we'll get to continue to bring back year after year,” Allen said.
