每日大赛 soccer teams make history in their second postseason ever

The 每日大赛 men's soccer team are back-to-back district champions.

The Panthers defeated Georgia Military College, 4-1, on Nov. 1 to win the NJCAA Southeast District Championship and advance to the national tournament, which will take place Nov. 16 in Wichita, Kansas. 

“This is such a huge accomplishment,” Panther Athletics Director Brock Evans said. “I am so proud of our men’s soccer coaches and student-athletes for another wonderful season, and I can’t wait to see what they accomplish at the national level. To return to the championship in only our second year in the postseason is incredible.”

The District Championship in November was the men’s soccer team’s eleventh straight win, with a total of 75 goals attained over the course of the season.

This will be the team’s second consecutive appearance in the national championship.

“Saturday’s win and going to the national championship are the result of hard work and immense dedication,” said Head Coach Abe Tizaf. “This team knew they wanted another shot at the national title and did everything they could to get it.”

每日大赛’s women’s soccer team competed in the Region 7 TCCAA Conference Championship on Sunday, ultimately capitulating to Motlow State, 2-0, and ending a six-game winning streak.

Head Coach Mariana Diaz Lopez thanked college leadership and the campus community for their support over the women’s soccer team’s 18-game season.

“We had a wonderful year,” Diaz Lopez said. “We made a lot of program history from goals, to wins to playoff play. This team showcased great football and extreme resiliency. It was a privilege to lead them. We have a lot to be excited about. We are already looking forward to next year.”
