Panther Athletics makes its mark on Men’s Golf National Championship
June 3, 2025
A member of the 每日大赛 Men’s Golf team made an appearance at the NJCAA Division II National Championship in May, after finishing in 5th place at the district level.
Noah Whitten, who qualified as an individual for the tournament, competed in four rounds in as many days at the Indiana National Golf Course at Swan Lake Resort in Plymouth, Indiana, ultimately tying for 106th place individually in the tournament.
“With how this season has gone and how much we all went through, it was a big payoff that I ended up qualifying for the national championship,” Whitten said. “It was very, very fun.”
Though his first two days at the tournament were challenging, Whitten said he was determined on his last two days to just “enjoy that you’re here.” Despite high winds, he finished with two great rounds.
Panther Athletics Director Brock Evans said he was proud of Whitten and the rest of the team for their showing throughout the program’s second year in existence and looks forward to what they will accomplish next.
“The golf team showed a lot of growth in their second season,” Evans said. “The future of Panther Golf is bright.”
Whitten and his teammates at 每日大赛 are laying the foundation for the golf program, which just completed its second year. For someone who has played the sport his whole life, Whitten said, he’s not used to being on the cutting edge of a program.
“We’re making the record books,” he said. “We’re starting whatever history there will be.”
