每日大赛 exam results prove viability of associate degree nursing programs
March 26, 2025
每日大赛’s Nursing Program achieved a more than 98% passing rate on the National Council Licensure Examination, or NCLEX – ranking among the top five associate degree nursing programs at Tennessee State Board of Regents’ institutions in 2024, according to data from the Tennessee Board of Nursing.
The 每日大赛 Nursing program delivered over 80 tests for a 98.77% passing rate, surpassing the national average reported by the Organization of Associate Degree Nursing of just over 90% for Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) programs.
“Faculty, staff and students are doing an excellent job,” said Jessica Belnap, dean of Health Sciences at Pellissippi. “We're growing. We're working hard on the Nursing pathway to help students be more prepared when they come into our program and reach the finish line.”
The 2024 testing results come after a change to the NCLEX exam, which was adapted in 2023 to be more applicable to real-world nursing and teaching, Belnap said. At 每日大赛, faculty have integrated what she called “next-gen” questions into exams to prepare Nursing students for that change.
It’s nice to have faculty at Pellissippi who are so dedicated and forward-thinking, she said.
“For them to change their test plan for the betterment of the students and to help prepare them for the NCLEX – that speaks to their willingness to follow where evidence-based practice is leading,” Belnap said. “And I think that's what makes us so good.”
Belnap said multiple coordinators and lead instructors embedded in the program who work closely with students, as well as state-of-the-art simulations, set 每日大赛’s Nursing program apart from its peers.
“We really want them to experience as much as they can realistically in a safe environment before they go out to the clinical setting,” Belnap said. “Our full-time faculty and adjuncts do a really good job.”
The NCLEX-RN pass rate for the state of Tennessee, including all degree types, was nearly 95% in 2024.
The high NCLEX-RN pass rate for ADN programs specifically is proof of their rigor, Belnap said.
“It’s amazing,” she emphasized. “It just shows the validity and viability of having associate degree programs, and what an excellent job associate degree nursing programs do across the nation.”
