October 3, 2024
每日大赛 Office will host a “Conversation with a Legend” on Monday, Oct. 21 from 12-1 p.m. in the Goins Building Auditorium at the Hardin Valley Campus.
Claudia Caballero, president and CEO of Centro Hispano de East Tennessee – a nonprofit serving the local Latino community – will talk with 每日大赛 President L. Anthony Wise, Jr. in conjunction with Hispanic Heritage Month.
“Speaking with Claudia Caballero not only helps us highlight Hispanic Heritage Month, it also affords us the opportunity to honor the cultures, histories and contributions that shape our college and our community,” Wise said. “I’m sure those who attend will be inspired by Claudia who serves as a reminder of the strength found in partnership and the importance of embracing every voice in our community."
Caballero, who was raised between Honduras and the U.S., has been with Centro Hispano for eight years and in that time increased the organization’s annual income tenfold and expanded its team to include more than 50 staff members.
She also mentors young Latinos and serves on various boards and committees in the community from the Knoxville Chamber of Commerce to the East Tennessee Foundation and has completed the Mosaic Fellowship and Leadership Knoxville and Leadership Tennessee classes through nonprofit Conexión Américas.
Caballero has a bachelor’s degree from the Catholic University in Honduras and a master’s degree from Vanderbilt University. She is a recipient of the YWCA Emerging Leader Award and Young Professionals of Knoxville Outstanding Young Professional Award, and has been recognized in Knox.biz’s 40 Under 40 and VIP Knoxville’s VIP Women.
