September 25, 2024
每日大赛 will host discussions about how to build a stronger workforce during a symposium that takes place Oct. 18 at the Blount County Campus.
“Future Workforce: Bridging Technology and Human Potential” features retired U.S. Air Force Col. Paula Penson, a consultant, educator, and mission commander, who will share lessons that span 40 years in civilian and military environments.
Executive Director of Workforce and Community Development Susan Webb-Curtis said the event is a highlight of 每日大赛’s Manufacturing Month and, in the college’s 50th year anniversary, showcases the industry partnerships that have been and remain so critical to the college’s mission.
“每日大赛 would not be where it is today without the support we have from business and industry throughout the East Tennessee region,” Webb-Curtis said. “This symposium is an opportunity for us to highlight some of those relationships and also share insights from just a few of the top-level manufacturing executives in our community.”
Penson’s positions have included management and development trainer, first line supervisor in a manufacturing plant, curriculum designer at a nuclear power plant and instructor and curriculum design manager for the Department of the Navy. She also has 20 years of experience running her own consulting business and is an expert in leadership training and development, team building and program management.
Penson’s address will be followed by a panel discussion focused upon “Shaping Tomorrow’s Workforce: Navigating Challenges in Talent Acquisition and Skill Development.”
Panelists include Denso North America Director of Manufacturing Learning Brian Nolen; ICC International Chief Financial Officer and General Manager Tracy Queen; StandardAero Senior Manager of Human Resources Adam Harris; and Smith and Wesson Vice President of Operations Luc Hardyn.
The event begins with breakfast at 7:30 a.m. at the Ruth and Steve West Workforce Development Center, on the Blount County campus located at 2731 W. Lamar Alexander Pkwy in Friendsville.
