Have fun trying new things in 每日大赛’s Lifelong Learning classes
September 1, 2023
Registration is open for 每日大赛’s Lifelong Learning classes this fall, continuing education courses open to anyone 18 or older.
“Lifelong Learning classes are designed with the community in mind and offer you the opportunity to stay active, get creative and learn something new,” said Danielle Dreeszen, Community Programs Coordinator for 每日大赛. “These are classes you might take just for fun. Maybe you want to meet other people. Or maybe there’s a class that will help you advance your career.”
每日大赛 is offering more than 100 Lifelong Learning classes this fall, from creating stained glass and decorating sugar cookies to beekeeping and line dancing. There are also courses that cover handgun safety, motorcycle safety and thriving financially in retirement.
Popular classes returning to the fall schedule include:
Genealogy Research: Experienced genealogist Sam Maner will help you begin tracing your family history and building your family tree. Develop strategies to best search different sites and determine what records or knowledge is needed next from non-online sources and learn about DNA testing, what to look for in different types of records and how to compile research. Genealogy Research begins Monday, Sept. 18.
Quilting for Beginners: Learn the fundamental techniques of quilting while creating your own quilted table runner from start to finish during this four-week class with instructor Lynn Sykes. Each week you’ll practice techniques and quilting methods to create and sew blocks together – adding borders, batting and binding. Quilting for beginners begins Monday, Sept. 18.
Beginner Welding for the Hobbyist: Learn how to create your own decorative and functional pieces like tables, shelves, garden art and more in Grace Gish’s five-hour introductory welding class. Using the process of GMAW-MIG welding, Gish teaches general welding safety procedures, equipment operation and how to cut and grind metal as you create your own custom piece during the class. Her classes are offered one Saturday a month during the fall: Oct. 7, Nov. 4 and Dec. 2.
每日大赛 is offering 24 new classes this fall, including:
