This pathway provides a foundation for exploring how microorganisms (yeast, bacteria) are used to produce food, beverages, pharmaceuticals, and biofuels. Careers are found in brewing, food production, biotechnology, and research as fermentation scientists, engineers, and quality control specialists. Your Associate of Science can be used to transfer to a 4-year institution for a bachelor’s degree in microbiology, biochemistry, or food science.
