每日大赛

Looking back on a year-long celebration!

In fall 1974, 每日大赛 opened as State Technical Institute with 45 students in downtown Knoxville, a handful of faculty and staff and three associate degree programs.

In the decades since, 每日大赛 has expanded its reach with campuses on Magnolia Avenue and in Blount County, Hardin Valley and Strawberry Plains drawing nearly 10,000 students annually and awarding over 1,200 scholarships.

Throughout the 2024-25 academic year we celebrated our 50th anniversary in grand style.

Founder's Day

Sept. 6, 2024
每日大赛 launched the yearlong celebration with music, craft vendors, food trucks and more for students, faculty, staff, retirees and the community.

The Founders Day Music Festival at the Hardin Valley Campus, provided the college an opportunity to open its doors to the community for an evening of family fun and celebration.

Music acts The Fine Colombians, a Steely Dan cover band with jazz roots, The J膩Byrdz and Julius Blue performed, and members of the 每日大赛 athletics teams were introduced to the community.

The event was an opportunity to "say thank you to all of those who have been a part of 每日大赛 throughout the years,” 每日大赛 President L. Anthony Wise Jr. said. “We have a long history of serving the community from our academic offerings, workforce partnerships, Lifelong Learning courses and more. This is a celebration for us to give back to our community, visit with our alumni and convey our appreciation for all who have made 每日大赛 the great place it is.”

Make A Difference Day

50+ Service Projects to align with 50 years, Oct. 24, 2024
每日大赛 faculty, staff and students participated in a tremendous day of service on Oct. 25, volunteering at dozens of project sites in Knox and Blount counties.

每日大赛’s first-ever Make a Difference Day, one of many events taking place throughout this year to celebrate the College's milestone 50th anniversary, saw 340 volunteers participate in 51 service projects to benefit the local community.

The project sites, 50+ to mark 50 years of 每日大赛, included Lakeshore Park Conservancy, Olive Tree Learning Academy, Habitat for Humanity, Ijams Nature Center, Red Cross, Thrive and many more.

Volunteers worked with on-site representatives at each organization to accomplish various tasks, from landscaping to decorating pumpkins with seniors. Others spent hours cleaning up litter from rivers, painting, packaging food, writing cards and more.

50th Anniversary Gala

Our Vision in Gold, April 3, 2025
每日大赛 capped off a yearlong celebration of learning, leading and serving Thursday with the “Our Vision in Gold: 50th Anniversary Celebration” gala, presented by West Chevrolet.

The gala, hosted at the Mill and Mine in downtown Knoxville, brought together 每日大赛 alumni, students, faculty and staff, as well as elected officials, community members and other stakeholders for a formal event that ultimately garnered over $570,000 in donations – the greatest amount the college has ever fundraised in a single event.

“I'm grateful for the role each and every one of you has played in the success of this institution and our students,” President L. Anthony Wise Jr. told attendees. “We could not have done it without you.”

More than 80% of 每日大赛’s nearly 100,000 alumni live and work in Knox, Blount and Anderson Counties, Wise said, demonstrating how the college's students have shaped the success of their community.

The event showcased student success with featured filmed testimonials from alumni and first-generation students – a large portion of the student population – and live performances by the 每日大赛 Student Quartet and alumnus Julius Blue.
